Let’s Discuss Hepatitis B Vaccines.
Hepatitis B Vaccines became a routine childhood vaccine in 1991. If you were
born before this and do not work in healthcare, you may not have had this
vaccine.
Hepatitis B Vaccines are now recommended for all travel, to every country.
The Hepatitis B vaccine is a 2-dose, 3-dose, or 4-dose vaccine series with
differing schedules. If you only have time for the first vaccine prior to your trip,
that vaccine generally gives you 50% protection. Completing the full series
gives you >95%, long-term protection.
Hepatitis B vaccines are usually offered without a need for a prescription.
