How It Works
We offer Asynchronous online Travel Medicine consultations, recommendations and prescriptions for vaccines and prophylactic (prevention) medications for residents over age 17 years old in the state of Florida. Prior to your international travel, check our free vaccine recommendations, fill out a questionnaire, then sign up and pay $50- for an Asynchronous consultation with a Physician.
STEP 1 (OPTIONAL): CHECK OUT VACCINE RECOMMENDATION LIST
Check out the vaccine recommendations for each of your travel destinations and your travel plans. These answers will help determine if you need prescriptions for vaccines and malaria prophylaxis. Record the recommendations and compare them with your vaccination history. If you do not need any prescriptions, you’re done. Have a great trip!
STEP 2: SUBMIT CONSULTATION REQUEST TO PHYSICIAN FOR REVIEW
If you know you need prescriptions, or if you would prefer to have your plans reviewed and recommendations given, and you are over 17 years old in the state of Florida, fill out a consultation request with your chosen, local pharmacy information and your information will be sent to one of our Physicians for review. With your agreement, you will be charged $50- at this point for the consultation.
The pharmacy must be in the state of Florida. You can determine which pharmacies in your area offer your needed vaccines and medications and at what price before entering this information.
Our Physicians will review your information and order prescriptions for vaccines and malaria prophylaxis, as needed.
STEP 3: YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ALERT ONCE CONSULTATION IS COMPLETED
Our system will alert you that our Travel Medicine Physician has reviewed your consultation information and has ordered your prescriptions.
STEP 4: VISIT THE PHARMACY FOR YOUR VACCINATIONS AND YOUR MEDICATIONS
You will need to find out from your pharmacy if you need to schedule your vaccines or if you can walk-in. The licensed Pharmacists will give you your ordered vaccines, update your vaccine cards, and give you the ordered prescriptions.
STEP 5: GO ON YOUR TRIP
Have a fun, healthy trip!

What does an Asynchronous consult mean?
This means that you will not be interacting with our physicians directly at a certain appointed
time. You will be providing information for our physicians to review, then they will send you back
information and prescriptions at a later time.
Can I book consultations for my children?
Our physicians are board certified with Internal Medicine, and are not certified to treat children.
We only treat adults ages 18 and older. We recommend that you take your children to their
Pediatrician or Family Medicine Provider prior to your trip.
We need travel vaccines for more than one adult. Can we book one consultation
together?
Each person will need to book their own consultation.
I need a travel consultation but I am not currently in the state of Florida. Can I book a
consultation?
Not at this time. We are currently only prescribing for patients that are currently physically
present in the state of Florida.
Can I have my prescriptions for vaccinations and medications sent to a pharmacy
outside Florida?
The vaccination prescriptions must be sent to a pharmacy in Florida. The medications can be
sent outside Florida only if they are mail-order prescriptions to an address in Florida.
I have a lot of medical issues. Are there any exclusions to using this service?
This Telemedicine practice is geared towards low-risk patients, who are planning to
travel. If you are a higher risk patient, we recommend that you are seen by an in-person
Provider before you travel. Please do not request or pay for a consultation via this
website if you have any of the following exclusions, as we will not be able to prescribe
any vaccinations or medications for you. Exclusions: Pregnant or breast-feeding,
Allergic to vaccines or something in vaccines (including eggs, Gelatin, Neomycin,
Polymyxin B, Streptomycin, Gentamicin,Thimerosal, or Yeast), Organ transplant
recipients, History of or current diagnosis of a malignant tumor or cancer, History of
Organ, Bone Marrow, or Stem Cell transplantation, History of or current diagnosis of a
thymus condition or thymectomy, History of or current diagnosis of a primary
immunodeficiency, Using immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory therapies within

How soon should I book a consultation before my trip?
You should book the consultation as soon as possible to make sure you have time to
complete the recommended vaccination series, as well as pick up and start your
recommended medications. Some malaria prevention medications need to be started
2-3 weeks before travel.
What is the difference between recommended and required vaccinations?
Recommended Vaccines protect you from infectious diseases you have a good chance
of coming into contact with when traveling.
Required Vaccines are required for entry into certain countries. You must present a
Yellow Card from the World Health Organization (WHO) to show proof of these
vaccines.
What does a WHO Yellow Card look like?

Is your program HIPAA Compliant?
Yes. We use Charm Health, a HIPAA compliant electronic medical record to keep your
data secure and confidential.
Do you take insurance?
We do not bill insurance companies. You can find invoices for your consults through
your Charm Health portal if you would like to submit it to your insurance company.
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover and Amex. You can also use HSA/FSA cards.
I do not know where my vaccination records are. What should I do?
It can be hard to keep track of all your vaccinations. Florida does have a record of
vaccinations, which you can check at https://flshotsusers.com/. You can check the
registries from other states where you have lived. You can contact your current and
previous doctors’ offices for records. You can ask your parents/caretakers or previous
schools for your childhood vaccinations. In the case that you do not have a record of
receiving a vaccine, and so it is recommended that you receive it, but in fact, actually
had received it in the past, it is not harmful and can increase protection, to receive
additional vaccines.
I lost my yellow card and I need proof of yellow fever vaccination for my next trip.
What can I do?
You need to contact the place that you received the yellow fever vaccine and the yellow
card. If you cannot get a copy, you can receive the vaccine again and get a new card.
Currently, for most patients, one yellow fever vaccine is considered protective for life.
But it is not harmful and can increase protection to receive additional doses.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
No, we do not prescribe any controlled substances.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel the consultation prior to being reviewed by one of our physicians. Once
our physician has started the consult, it can no longer be canceled.
How soon will a Physician review my information, complete my consult, and
order my prescriptions for vaccines and malaria prophylactic medication to the
pharmacy?
This will vary. Our physicians are currently completing consults within 72 hours of
intake.
I am traveling to multiple destinations. Can I book one appointment for this?
Yes. Each appointment will consider all of your destinations.
On what information do you base your recommendations?
Our recommendations are based on the latest evidence-based information from t, the
World Health Organization, Travel Medical Physician experts (such as the Infectious
Disease Society of America, and also the Center for Disease Control. If the
recommendations from the data we review are driven by political ideology rather than
evidence-based medical research, we will not repeat them in our practice.
What will I need to submit for my Travel Medicine consultation?
After payment, you will be directed to create a Charm Health online account, fill out a
travel questionnaire online and provide a copy of your vaccination record. Questions on
The questionnaire will include questions about previous immunizations, current
medications, allergies, medical conditions, list of countries you plan to visit, duration of
your trip, and nature of your trip.
