The Poliovirus vaccine is a 3-dose vaccine series, completed at 0, 1, and 6 months. Accelerated doses are available.
Poliovirus vaccines are usually offered without a need for a prescription.
Contraindications to Poliovirus Vaccine:
-Patients who have had severe allergic (anaphylactic) reactions after a previous dose of
inactivated polio vaccine (IPV).
-Patients who have had severe allergic (anaphylactic) reactions after taking Streptomycin, Polymyxin B, or Neomycin
